What Data We Collect

Local Processing

SnapTrim processes all video files locally on your device. Your video files are never uploaded to our servers or transmitted over the internet. All trimming, cropping, and editing operations occur entirely on your Windows computer.

Data We DO Collect

While using Our Application, We may collect the following limited information:

Diagnostic Data

We may collect diagnostic and crash data to help improve the Application’s stability and performance. This may include:

  • Device information (Windows version, device type)
  • Application version
  • Crash reports and error logs
  • Performance metrics

This diagnostic data is collected through Microsoft Store’s built-in analytics and crash reporting services.

Usage Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to understand how the Application is used. Plausible collects only aggregated, anonymized usage data and does not use cookies or store personal information.

Microsoft Store Analytics

When you download and use SnapTrim through the Microsoft Store, Microsoft collects basic usage information in accordance with their privacy policy.

Data We DO NOT Collect

  • Video Files: Your video files are processed entirely locally and are never uploaded or transmitted
  • Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information
  • User Accounts: SnapTrim does not require account creation or user login

Use of Your Data

The limited data We collect is used solely for:

  • To improve the Application: Diagnostic data helps us identify and fix bugs
  • To understand usage patterns: Anonymized analytics help us prioritize improvements

Sharing of Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except:

  • With Microsoft: Diagnostic data is shared through their Store analytics platform
  • With Plausible Analytics: Anonymized, aggregated usage data

We retain diagnostic data only as long as necessary to improve the Application, typically no longer than 12 months.

Children’s Privacy

Our Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13.
