Keyframe Animation for Redactions
The headline feature of v1.4 is keyframe animation for redactions. You can now create moving redactions that follow objects through your video by placing keyframes at different timestamps.
- Manual keyframe positioning — Add keyframes at different points in your video and drag the redaction to follow a moving object
- Smooth interpolation — Redaction position is automatically interpolated between keyframes for smooth movement
- Keyframe time editing — Edit keyframe times directly or use the “Set to Playhead” button to quickly position keyframes at the current video position
- Crop-aware keyframes — Keyframe animation works correctly even when you’ve applied a crop to your video
Improved Undo/Redo Support
- Full undo/redo support for keyframe operations, including position changes and mode switches
- Better preservation of your selection when using undo/redo
British and American English Localisation
SnapTrim now automatically detects your system locale and uses the appropriate spelling conventions (British or American English) throughout the user interface.
Bundled .NET Runtime
The application now includes the .NET Desktop Runtime, so you no longer need to install .NET separately. This makes installation simpler and more reliable.
Improvements
- Redaction preview now shows a warning when no redactions are active at the current playhead position
- The File menu’s “Recent” submenu now displays full file paths for better clarity
- Project files now automatically update the video path when you locate a missing video file
- Clicking empty space in the video area now deselects the current redaction
- Export now only includes applied changes — unapplied trim/crop adjustments are excluded, making the Apply button the explicit commitment gate
- Switching to Redact mode now automatically selects the first redaction if none is currently selected
- New View menu option to show or hide timeline tick marks
- Status bar now shows a confirmation message when saving a project
Bug Fixes
- Fixed status bar text being difficult to read in dark mode
- Fixed redaction preview showing all redactions instead of only those active at the current timestamp
- Fixed an issue where the Export button was disabled after loading a saved project
- Fixed the app not closing properly after exporting a video
- Fixed aspect ratio constraints not being applied correctly when resizing a crop region
- Fixed crop dialog cancellation leaving redactions in a modified state
- Fixed export operation incorrectly clearing the unsaved changes indicator
- Fixed window title asterisk (*) not appearing when project has unsaved changes
- Fixed window title showing only filename for project files instead of full path
